FAQs
What can I expect at my first appointment?
Your first session includes a short consultation so we can discuss your needs, health background, and what you’d like to get out of the massage. This helps tailor the treatment to you. You’ll stay comfortably covered throughout, and I’ll explain what I’m doing as we go so you feel completely at ease.
What type of massage should I go for?
Don’t worry about explaining what type of techniques you want in advance. The information on our website is purely to give you a flavour of what we do. We’ll discuss your specific needs at your first appointment and we’ll talk through what techniques we’ll use.
What types of massage do you offer?
Sports Massage
A focused, deeper treatment aimed at easing tight muscles, improving mobility, and supporting your body through training or day-to-day strain. It targets specific areas of tension and helps speed up recovery so you can move more comfortably and perform at your best.
Swedish Massage
A gentle, calming full-body treatment designed to ease everyday tension and help you fully relax. Using long, flowing strokes and light-to-medium pressure, it encourages circulation, reduces stress, and leaves you feeling rested, restored, and peaceful.
Restorative Massage
A soothing, slow-paced treatment designed to calm the nervous system and ease deep-held tension. Using gentle, nurturing techniques, it helps your body unwind, rebalance, and settle into a state of real rest — ideal if you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or simply in need of quiet recovery.
Indian Head Massage
A relaxing treatment focusing on the head, neck and shoulders to release built-up tension and melt away stress. Gentle rhythmic techniques help ease tightness, boost circulation, and leave you feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply relaxed.
Don’t worry about what sort of massage you need. We’ll talk through what your problem is and help you decide what’s best for you; or we can mix and match techniques to give you the best experience.
Where are you based? Do I need to travel?
No! We come to you! We cover the wider Bridgend area, just get in touch to see if we’ll travel to where you're based. Drop us an email to ask if you’d like us to come to where you are, your home or perhaps your sports club.
When are your appointments? Do you work evenings/weekends?
We have lots of availability including evenings and weekends, get in touch to see if we can accommodate your needs.
Do I need to prepare anything?
We just need a space to set up a massage table and move around it; about 2m by 1m (or 8” by 6” in old money). Most people’s living rooms can more than accomodate. If you’re not sure, send us a picture and we’ll take a look. We’ll supply towels and oils and respect your dignity throughout
What do I need to wear?
Most people wear loose clothing like a t-shirt and shorts. We can work around clothing or ask what you’re comfortable removing. We’ll cover you with towels and respect your dignity throughout.
Is sports massage only for athletes?
Not at all! Sports massage is great for anyone with muscle tension, stiffness, or postural issues — whether from exercise, work, or daily life.
Does it hurt?
You may feel some pressure during a deeper massage, and sometimes it’s sore; but it should never be painful. We’ll always check in and adjust the pressure to keep you comfortable while still being effective.
How often should I have a massage?
That depends on your goals. Some people come regularly for maintenance and prevention, others just when they need it. We can discuss what works best for you after your first session.
How do I book?
You can get in touch here to arrange an appointment. If you’re not sure which type of massage you need, feel free to contact me — I’m happy to help you decide.
